About TechZone

TechZone was launched on 29 September 2007 by Rahul Dowlath. In the ever-changing and powerful world of technology, people need to stay ahead. Knowledge of the latest gadgets, software, devices etc. are valuable to anyone wanting to be tech savvy. Hence, TechZone was established: a cool, funky and interactive site who’s mission is to make sure you’re ahead. TechZone provides regular updates on the latest software, hardware, gadgets, games, consoles, mobiles and devices. Furthermore, we run a weekly advice column where you can ask us our opinions on anything tech! ____________________________________________________________________________________

Managing Director & Editor

Born in Durban, South Africa, Rahul developed an interest in technology at an early age when he was given a Celeron-based computer for his 10th birthday. At age 11, he wrote his first computer program in Liberty BASIC (a movie ticket program).

In 2006, Rahul moved on to more ambitious ventures when he played around in Microsoft Visual Basic 2000 Student Edition. However, it was not until 2007 when Rahul began proper application development when he began learning Microsoft’s premier programming language, C#. Today, Rahul is still finding something new to develop or create on his Intel Core2Duo-based black-and-silver system PC. He runs Windows XP, and “does not trust Vista as yet!”

Although a great fan of Apple products (and having owned a 5-generation 60GB Apple iPod Video – in black), he doesn’t own an Apple Mac. However, Rahul is looking at the various iterations of the Mac, and is currently planning on getting one, although he believes that his current PC is “a real workhorse, considering its hectic hardware kit-out)”.

Rahul had the idea to start an online magazine that provides the latest tech news, and eventually in late September he launched his latest project, TechZone.

In his spare time, Rahul enjoys computer programming, working out at the gym, playing basketball and computer games (racing and action are his favorite). He’s also a black belt in karate, and enjoys practicing the martial art.You can learn more about Rahul by visiting his official blog: www.rahuldowlath.wordpress.com
